Who is Lopolight?

Lopolight is a Danish manufacturer of LED navigation lights for boats. Its range includes masthead lights, side (port/starboard) lights, stern lights, all-round lights and combined light solutions. Lopolight fixtures are fully LED-based, drawing far less current than classic incandescent lights (typically a few hundred mA), eliminating heat build-up and bulb replacement. The lights are produced in visibility classes (such as 2 or 3 nautical miles) that meet the range and colour-arc requirements defined in COLREG (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea) Annex I, and are known for their low-profile, compact housings.

With models designed specifically for long-distance cruising yachts, commercial vessels and fishing boats, Lopolight promises a longer service life and lower maintenance than conventional lights. Housings are made from UV-resistant polycarbonate or similar materials with a sealing rating suited to a marine environment.

Some Lopolight models carry independently tested certifications for light intensity (candela) and colour purity, confirming visibility to other vessels and shore. Their low current draw brings a real energy saving on sailing yachts with limited battery capacity or vessels that spend long periods at anchor — a factor we take into account when planning energy and battery systems.

Lopolight products with Aslan Yacht

As part of our yacht lighting service, Aslan Yacht installs and wires Lopolight LED navigation lights and selects the correct range class for COLREG requirements. When converting existing incandescent lights to Lopolight LEDs, we check voltage drop and confirm the existing cable cross-section suits the new current value. For faulty or incomplete fixtures, we diagnose the LED module, gasket and connector for the fault. Aslan Yacht is not an authorized Lopolight dealer or service centre; we install and service the brand's products with our own independent technical approach.

Typical jobs

  • Converting masthead, side and stern lights to LED, covered in our navigation lights and LED conversion article
  • Selecting and installing the correct Lopolight light class for a vessel's length on new-build or refit projects
  • Checking cable, fuses and connectors when a light fails
  • Function-testing lights ahead of winter lay-up and at the start of the season

Why Aslan Yacht

We support motor yacht and sailing yacht owners around Turgutreis D-Marin, Yalıkavak Palmarina, Milta Bodrum Marina and Gümüşlük, from installation of Lopolight navigation lights through to fault diagnosis. We measure voltage and current in the light circuits, and check fuses and cable sizing against the light's actual draw, accounting for voltage drop on long runs to the masthead light. After installation we verify the light's visibility arc and check for shading toward nearby vessels or shore with a practical test in the marina.
