How Aslan Yacht began
The Aslan Yacht story didn't start with a sign above a door, but with years at the workbench. Our founder, Necmettin Aslan, graduated from the electrical department of a technical college in 2000. From 2001 to 2007 he worked for a private company as an electrician, electronics technician and mechanic, where he learned to solder a control board and replace a pump seal on the same day.
From 2007 to 2012 he was technical service chief and electrical foreman at another company. There he did more than fix faults: he led teams, planned service work and defined what it actually takes for a job to count as "done". After 2012 he took that experience into his own business and founded Aslan Yacht in Turgutreis.
Today Aslan Yacht is a workshop handling fault-finding, scheduled maintenance, refits and authorized service on yacht electrical systems, boat electrical installations, marine electronics and the mechanical equipment connected to them.
Our yacht electrical workshop in Turgutreis, Bodrum
Our workshop is in the Bahçelievler district of Turgutreis. It is more than a parts store: we measure control boards on the bench, test them under load with a DC power supply, and commission PLC and contactor panels before they go aboard. Our own watermaker line, Leo Mare, is assembled and tested here before delivery.
Being a short walk from the marina speeds up the work on site. A charger, a gangway control box or a heater control unit removed from a boat can be on the bench and measured the same day, and the owner or captain can follow the process closely.
Our approach and values
Measure first, then decide. We define a fault by measurement, not by guesswork. We don't swap parts until values such as voltage drop, insulation resistance, leakage current or charge profile are on record. That is how we try to stop the same fault returning a few weeks later.
Workmanship to recognised standards. We size cables for current and run length and calculate voltage drop, using tinned marine-grade copper cable, correct fusing and proper lugs. Our references are accepted rules such as ABYC E-11 and ISO 13297 / ISO 10133. We cover the detail in our article on cable sizing and voltage drop.
Clear communication. We tell you what we found, what we recommend and why, and which work can wait. When we work with a captain or a management company, we report the job with photos and measured values.
Tidy, traceable installations. Every connection we make is labelled, secured and readable by the next technician. A good installation isn't just one that works today; it's one that still makes sense five years from now.
What we do
On motor yachts, typical work includes generator and shore-power changeover, high AC loads, stabilizers and thrusters. On sailing yachts, the focus is energy autonomy, solar, lithium batteries and mast wiring. You'll find every area on our services page, with boat-specific detail on the motor yacht electrical and sailing yacht electrical pages.
We are a dealer or service partner for Besenzoni, Idromar and Tecnicomar, and we work regularly with Seakeeper, Zipwake, Victron Energy, C.E.M., Lopolight and Tecnoinox equipment. What these relationships mean for an owner is explained on our authorized service page.
How we run a job
Every job follows the same sequence. First we listen to the owner or captain about when and under which conditions the fault appears; that is often the most valuable clue. Then we measure aboard and share the findings and the proposed fix in writing. Once approved, we carry out the work, test the system under real load and, at handover, record the measured values, the parts replaced and any recommendations for the next service.
For refits and new installations we add one more step: a load list and a single-line diagram. Writing down which consumer is fed from which busbar and through which fuse makes today's installation easier and future fault-finding faster.
We cover the issues specific to wooden gulets in our article on gulet electrical systems, and season preparation for charter boats in our pre-charter season checklist.
Where we work
We work mainly on the Bodrum peninsula: D-Marin Turgutreis, Palmarina Yalıkavak, Milta Bodrum Marina, Gümüşlük and the local boatyards. Our clients include motor yachts as well as sailing yachts, gulets and catamarans. Practical notes on the marinas and season planning are in our guide to yacht service in Bodrum and Turgutreis.
